Use Pen tool

Draw straight or curved vector paths, close shapes, add or remove nodes, and use Shift snapping for cleaner Pen tool work.

Draw custom vector paths, point by point, to create shapes and lines nothing in the elements library quite matches. Use it for custom outlines, icons, badges, and any illustration you want to build from scratch.

#Draw with the Pen tool

1. Select the pen tool in the bottom toolbar.

2. Click once to place a straight point, or click and drag to place a point with a curve. How far and which direction you drag shapes the curve's handles.

3. Keep clicking, or clicking and dragging, to add more points and build out your path.

4. Hold Shift while placing a point to snap that segment to a perfectly horizontal, vertical, or 45-degree line.

5. Move your cursor near existing objects or nodes as you draw. The pen tool snaps to them for clean, aligned connections.

• Activate the Pen tool from the main toolbar at the bottom of your screen

• Click and drag to draw smooth, curved paths

• Click once, then click again to create straight lines between points

• Hold Shift while clicking to snap lines perfectly horizontal or vertical

• Snap to nearby objects and nodes for clean, precise connections

#Closing and editing paths

• Connect the start and end point of your path to close it and turn it into a solid shape

• Add nodes by hovering over an empty segment of the path with the Pen tool. The cursor will change to (+), indicating you can add a point.

• Remove nodes by hovering over an existing node with the Pen tool. The cursor will change to (–), allowing you to delete it.

• Once closed, double-click the shape to enter vector editing mode and fine-tune the curves
