AI usage rules
Review the rules for using AI-generated content commercially, including licensing, legal checks, blocked prompts, and provider filters.
Review the rules for using AI-generated content commercially, including how ownership works by plan, when to check legal fit before selling, and what you can't prompt for.
Commercial use and licensing
You can use AI-generated content for commercial projects, but a few things depend on your plan.
On a Pro, Expert, or Max plan, you own full rights to the images and videos you generate and can sell them freely, subject to our terms of use and licensing. The same rules apply whether you're generating images or video.
On the Free plan, AI-generated images and videos become part of the shared content library, so you can't sell them as stock material or use them commercially on their own.
If you publish a design or an AI-generated image or video to the community, for example as a template other users can access, all rights in that content transfer to Kittl, and you need to let others know it was made with AI. Keep anything you plan to sell or reuse private.
Pro and Expert plans cap each design at 500,000 printed copies or 500,000 expected viewers. Max plan removes that cap entirely.
Check legal fit before selling
Kittl doesn't guarantee that a generated image or video is cleared for commercial use, especially if it resembles someone else's work. If you're planning to sell what you create, it's worth consulting a legal expert to confirm it complies with local laws first.
Prompt rules and filters
You can't use text-to-image or text-to-video features for pornographic, illegal, or immoral purposes. Prompts are filtered for profanities and blocked automatically when flagged. Some third-party AI partners apply their own filters on top of Kittl's, and Kittl doesn't have control over those.
You also can't generate images or videos of public figures, recognizable characters, or brands. These may be protected by copyright or trademark law, and using them commercially means getting permission from the rights holder first, something Kittl can't grant on your behalf.
Common questions
Do I own the AI images and videos I generate?
Yes, if you're on a Pro, Expert, or Max plan. On the Free plan, AI-generated images and videos become part of the shared content library and can't be sold as stock.
Is there a limit on how many copies I can sell?
Pro and Expert plans cap each design at 500,000 printed copies or 500,000 expected viewers. Max plan has no cap.
What happens if I publish my design to the community?
All rights in that design transfer to Kittl once it's published, so only publish work you're happy to share publicly.
